One of the most popular requests is to have a Virginia Beach wedding on the beach. There is no permit required for a beach wedding, though of course, you do have to get the marriage license! If you have less than 150 guests then the ceremony does not require any reservations. Naturally, special setups for the ceremony must be minimal. You cannot get married on the boardwalk or on any public property besides the beach in the resort area. However, you may be able to hold a ceremony in certain resort sections if you have a special event permit.

What are some of the most popular spots for weddings? Parks are an option; there is truly some breathtaking panoramic shots around the Great Neck Park Gazebo and the Red Wing Park Gardens. Some visitors have also been married at the Bayville Farms Park, the Woodstock Park and the Munden Point Park.

One of the best reasons to choose a Virginia Beach wedding is because your honeymoon spot is right next door to your wedding. There is plenty to do and see in Virginia Beach, including water activities, romantic hotel suites, and even cottages by the sea. The Chesapeake Bay area is particularly beautiful, while the community of Sandbridge is welcoming.

Bear in mind that if you want to be married around the resort area, no reservations can be taken from June 15th to Labor Day. Commercial deliveries are not allowed and because parking is limited, it’s best to carpool when possible. The wedding ceremony does not allow alcohol or glass utensils, so you will have to hold the reception at a different venue, perhaps a hotel or a public facility. However, you can bring along hand-carried equipment to make your naturalistic beach wedding memorable and picturesque.
